Some info about me:

  • 19 l Asian American

  • Dry-Sensitive skin l Gets oily during the summer in the t-zone

  • Concerns:

  • Anti-aging

  • Dry patches

  • Small pimple problems

  • Blackheads

Morning:

After I wake up and the usual (brushing teeth, restroom etc):

  • Wash my face with the Neutrogena Pore Refining Daily Cleanser, which I have been using for almost nine years

  • Apply a toner to remove any residue. I’m currently using Son & Park’s Beauty Water which is a great “multitasking toner and cleansing water that creates a clean base for any skin care and makeup that follows”. It’s great for my dull/dry skin and my skin just absorbs this like magic. So far, I haven’t experienced any irritation or allergic reactions, which is great!

  • Apply light weight moisturizer: Currently using Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Gel.

  • Apply Sunscreen to protect the skin from the sun’s UV rays. I’m currently using Neutrogena’s Clear Face Sunscreen. My aunt recommended this particular sunscreen to my sister as she has major acne/combination skin problems. After coming back from college for winter break, I realized I forgot my own sunscreen at my dorm so I started using hers and I fell in love. It, along with other skin-care products and a small stop in using heavy makeup, has helped clear up some of her skin and the redness she use to have.

  • After applying sunscreen, I will usually either proceed with Etude House’s Face Blur, my current favorite primer, or just go straight to my usual make-up routine.

Night:

My night time skin-care routine is very similar to what I do in the morning, except I focus on moisturizing my skin and providing it with the necessary vitamins and other good stuff it needs while I’m sleeping.

  • Remove any makeup: I’ve been using Garnier’s SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water & Waterproofmakeup remover. I prefer using water based makeup removers as oil-based or cream based removers tend to irritate my skin. Plus Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water is super easy to use and really efficient in removing everything to my waterproof mascara.

  • I doubled cleanse, so after removing my makeup with Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water, I follow it up with washing my face with Neutrogena Pore Refining Daily Cleanser.

  • After cleansing the face, I use a toner Son & Park’s Beauty Water to remove anything that might be left over. I use a cotton pad and gently swipe it over my face going upwards. Then I swipe the other side downwards to my neck and behind my ears.

  • After the toner, I apply an essence/light weight moisturizing essence. Currently using Laneige’s Clear C Advanced Effector which not only looks amazing(the rose-y, red glass bottle with the rose gold top is beautiful) but also feels cooling to gently pat on my face.

  • After the light weight essence, I will use a light-weight moisturizer, in this case Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Gel to gently give my face a massage to stimulate blood flow and get rid of any water bloating.

  • After the Aloe Vera Gel is absorbed, I follow by using either a sleeping pack( Laneige’s Water Sleeping Mask) or a heavy cream moisturizer such as Nature Republic’s Shea butter Moist Steam Cream.

And now, we’re done!

I know that might seem like a lot to some people, but skin-care is the very foundation of protecting and preserving the structure and touch of the skin. I believe that by finding a skin-care routine and products that fit you and your concerns, it’ll be worth while investment.

All of the following products should/will have a product review on this blog. Be sure to check them out for more info and my personal opinions/review about them!
